The short version

We're entrepreneurs with publishing and design backgrounds and a plan to leverage short-form content in a new, unique (but familiar) way to bring stories to life. Our goal is to empower our publishers, engage and grow audiences and to monetize these stories.

Having worked for a number of years in the realms of content, gaming and entertainment, between us we’ve accumulated divergent experience as publishers, developers, creative directors, executives, founders and more... but what we share is an excitement for creating products that connect people, and build communities.

With both startups and exits, non-profit leadership and senior corporate roles in our background, we’ve had the opportunity to collaborate and forge relationships with organizations across a wide range of sectors, including Microsoft, EA Sports, Hootsuite, Dropbox, Disney, Adobe, Best Buy, Expedia, 7-Eleven, Visa, Paypal, Verizon and many others.

We've joined together to develop a new publishing format. A platform with products that drive engagement, audience growth and revenue through compelling content and storytelling.

Well not even close actually. In fact, all the data (and anecdotal evidence) reveals quite the opposite (although, with that said, sadly a number of magazine titles have been shelved forever…but I digress).

New media publications of all descriptions have been increasing in numbers the past few years…and those that have been in print format for eternity have been continuously iterating to deliver a more engaging experience - and many, dare I say, are not only surviving, but thriving.

The foundation of all magazines have been about a few key tenets - engagement, building community and at some point, usually attaching an economic model to the content package.

Irrespective of revamps, re-brands, re-launches, new launches and new platforms, the race to be ever more engaging, interactive and relevant has been at the core of all those decisions.

Digital magazines, when packaged and presented to drive that engagement and interactivity, deliver a uniquely satisfying “wow” factor readers not only embrace, but actively seek-out, welcoming a suspension of the ephemeral interactions that are most prevalent in all but the rarest forms of content consumption today.

Although we should pump the brakes a little, as we are called 10-10 for a reason (10 pages, 10 minutes of time committed tops - so we’re not exactly committing to the looong form ourselves)

What is clear, is that the level of engagement within a purposefully curated magazine experience, one infused with community-building, relevance and a personal connection, can be unparalleled.

Everyday we all have digital interactions that are immediate, interactive, compelling, beautifully designed, and personally relevant. That’s pretty much the expectation - and digital magazines can deliver exactly that.

While there have been obvious growing pains across the media landscape with emerging digital technology, we’ve arrived today at a place with ample options to engage at a level unlike any time previously.

Success from our perspective is not judged by page views, number of comments or shares. Success is defined by the level of engagement and trust with your community.

Like any other social platform or tool, developing relationships and connectivity is central. Offering your audience unique opportunities to engage and be a part of something bigger than themselves is the domain of a digital magazine. Delivering short form, long form and exciting narratives that other platforms don’t allow for in the same way is the feature, not the flaw.

It is about relationships, but let’s also give a nod to one of the other key pillars to most content and media projects - the economics, and monetization opportunities. A relationship between the reader and publisher allows for an economic model to be introduced, if one so chooses.

Digital magazines are excelling at those truly interactive, yet non-intrusive, ads.
